The findings of these roundtables were presented at the World Sustainable Buildings Conference in Barcelona, and, together with the desk research carried out, have been included in the Renovalue Market Insight Report published in June 2015.

European Parliament, Brussels, 26 January 2016
On 26 January 2016, the RenoValue project organized the roundtable “Integrating sustainability in property valuation“, an opportunity to discuss why and how policy makers should strengthen the role of property valuers as drivers of the market transition towards sustainable buildings.
The event was organized at the European Parliament in Brussels with the support of Theresa Griffin MEP (S&D, UK) and Sirpa Pietikäinen MEP (EPP, Finland) and in collaboration with the Renovate Europe Campaign.
The debate was moderated by Ursula Hartenberger, Global Head of Sustainability at RICS, on behalf of the RenoValue Consortium.
Marie Donnelly, Director at DG ENER, and forty stakeholders representing valuers, products manufacturers, service providers, architects, research centres, investors and specialised press attended the roundtable.
PRESENTATION Paris COP21, December 2015
The RenoValue project and the Market Insight Report were one of the three central themes of our partner RICS at COP 21 in Paris. The aim of Renovalue at COP21 was to raise awareness about the project and its importance with global audiences, including UN representatives, government delegations, built environment stakeholders and members of the finance and investment communities. In fact, the positive feedback received at COP21 showed a keen interest in the training material from non-European countries, including Russia, Africa and South East Asia.
The requests for more information at numerous events and during conversations where project partners have been either presenting or mentioning the RenoValue project confirmed that the consideration of sustainability in property valuation is very topical and we are very pleased to support it with a unique capacity building initiative.
One great immediate outcome of our presence at COP21 was the extension of the Renovalue pilot training programme to France, another country not included in the original pool of countries targeted by the project. Indeed on 7 January 2016 Ursula Hartenberger from RICS and Frank Hovorka from Caisse des Depots piloted the training material with a group of French valuers. The event was hosted by RICS France in Paris.
